The Healthy Jew is an online publication about healthy Jewish living and Israel’s natural world. It is written by Shmuel Chaim Naiman, a health teacher and foraging guide based in Ramat Bet Shemesh, Israel.
Since October 7, The Healthy Jew has been dedicated to defending the Jewish people against fear, anxiety, stress, and negative drama. The aim is not to engage in physical or mental battles but to promote healthy Jewish living and appreciate Israel’s natural world. Everyone is considered a soldier in this war for wellness.
For the past 4 months, The Healthy Jew has been publishing two free weekly newsletters:
- Healthy Jewish (Wednesday) provides strategies for healthy living in times of crisis, aiming to combat fear and promote well-being. Israel needs healthy Jews to thrive.
- Natural Israel (Sunday) offers a positive perspective on Israel, focusing on purpose and health rather than pain and fear. It encourages a shift in perception towards the goodness of the land.
A new book titled “Land of Health: Israel’s War for Wellness” has been published this week, compiling the best ideas and advice from The Healthy Jew.
The book includes beautiful pictures of healthy living in Natural Israel and can be found in local bookstores, on Amazon, and through direct contact with the author.
The first part of the book focuses on the healthy body of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel, based on posts from Natural Israel. The second part provides practical tips for maintaining wellness during challenging times, drawing from Healthy Jewish posts. Lastly, the book outlines The Healthy Jew’s mission and programs for promoting healthy Jewish living and exploring Israel’s natural world.
