Quantexa, Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, and The University of Liverpool’s Civic Health Innovation Labs (CHIL) are collaborating to establish a cutting-edge global AI hub for health and social care in Liverpool.
Quantexa’s Decision Intelligence Platform will be implemented by CHIL and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, working alongside the University of Liverpool, NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board, and other partners to utilize AI-driven decision intelligence technology. This partnership aims to integrate various data sources into a reliable data foundation, enabling researchers, care teams, and patients to access and benefit from mental health research.
With a £4.9 million award from the Office for Life Sciences, CHIL and partners will launch a ‘Data-Action Accelerator’ project to enhance the Data into Action Programme of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside. This initiative will facilitate faster and more informed decision-making using integrated care systems data, ultimately enhancing services for patients and communities.
Quantexa will be co-located with CHIL, positioning itself as a key AI partner for the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre, a collaboration between Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Liverpool focusing on global mental health challenges.
Professor Joe Rafferty of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust emphasized the importance of utilizing data and AI to enhance mental healthcare and treatment outcomes, while Vishal Marria, CEO of Quantexa, highlighted the company’s commitment to improving care programs through collaboration with university and NHS partners.
In addition, a project led by NHS Cheshire and Merseyside integrated care board, in partnership with technology provider C2-Ai, is focusing on AI solutions with the NHS Waiting Well initiative, which uses AI to identify high-risk patients on waiting lists for timely intervention.
