One of Tommy’s Filipino friends always brings these BBQ Pork Skewers to summer parties, and the recipe has been a hit for years. The marinade may seem like it has a lot of sugar and soy sauce, but most of it gets discarded.

For this recipe, you’ll need pork (country style ribs work well), 7-Up soda, soy sauce, white vinegar, lemon, brown sugar, garlic, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (optional).

To make these skewers, simply marinate the pork in the mixture for at least 6 hours or overnight. Thread the pork onto skewers and grill until cooked through.
