This week’s inspiration comes from urban planning expert Fred Kent of the Project for Public Spaces: “If you plan cities for cars and traffic, you get cars and traffic. If you plan for people and places, you get people and places.” In other words, the way we design our cities and communities has a direct impact on the kind of environment we create.
Consider leaving the car behind when you visit the city or head to the store. Your choice to walk or use alternative transportation can inspire others to contribute to a less congested and more pedestrian-friendly community.
