Digital Health Intelligence has recently published a report analyzing the shifts in the PACS and RIS market within English NHS acute trusts from September 2018 to May 2024. Titled ‘PACS & RIS Contracts Wins and Migrations: Acute Trusts from 2018-2024’, the report highlights the evolving landscape of PACS and RIS suppliers in the healthcare sector.

According to the report, Sectra has emerged as the leading PACS provider, experiencing significant growth and capturing 30.4% of the market share. Philips and GE Healthcare have also seen changes in their market positions during this period. In the RIS market, Soliton IT and Magentus have maintained their dominance, with Epic emerging as a key player.

The report emphasizes the importance of technological advancements such as AI, cloud-based services, interoperability, and standardization in shaping the future of PACS, RIS, and imaging services. It notes that meeting the rising demand for advanced diagnostic tools will require effective planning and significant investment. The pace of technological development and market dynamics will also be influenced by funding availability and political developments in the healthcare sector.
