Charter Senior Living has expanded its presence in the New England area with the management of six communities previously managed by Leisure Care. The communities, now managed by Charter, offer a range of services including independent living, assisted living, and memory care and are located in Brookfield, Orange, and Woodbridge, Connecticut; and Danvers, North Dartmouth, and Dedham, Massachusetts.
These communities are owned by Columbia Pacific Advisors, with Charter also managing other communities owned by the investment firm in different states. According to COO and President Jayne Sallerson, this growth in New England is strategic in further strengthening Charter’s geographic concentration and leveraging regional teams to maintain a hands-on approach and visibility within the communities.
Charter’s recent expansion includes a new ground-up development in Bristol, Connecticut, with additional projects underway in the Constitution State. With a focus on building out a New England region, Charter is actively seeking further opportunities for growth.
As part of a leadership “refocus,” Jayne Sallerson was appointed president last year, with a specific focus on enhancing employee retention to achieve growth goals. According to CEO Keven Bennema, the company’s growth strategies are calculated and aimed at managing existing assets while expanding joint venture partner relationships.
