Beverley Bryant, the joint chief digital information officer for Guys and St. Thomas’s and Kings College Hospital trusts, will be stepping down at the end of August.

During her time as CDIO at GSST and Kings, Bryant oversaw the successful implementation of the largest Epic EPR in the UK and played a crucial role in the recovery from the IT systems meltdown at GSST in July 2022.

The announcement of Bryant’s departure was made in an email sent today by GSST CEO Professor Ian Abbs, who recently presented alongside Bryant at Rewired24.

Professor Abbs praised Bryant for her leadership of the DT&I team and her instrumental role in the launch of the Apollo Programme, which saw the successful deployment of Epic EPR across all sites of both trusts in October.

While expressing sadness at Bryant’s departure, Professor Abbs acknowledged her desire to take a break and explore new career opportunities. He highlighted the strong legacy Bryant leaves behind at both organizations in maximizing the benefits of the investments in Epic and the new patient portal, MyChart.

In response, Bryant shared her plans with Digital Health News to take a short break before potentially returning in a new national or NHS leadership role.
