Ibrahim Özdemir, a prominent Turkish environmentalist, has recently authored a book titled “Care for Creation: An Islamic Perspective.” This book explores the Islamic perspective on environmentalism, emphasizing the importance of finding a balanced relationship with the surrounding environment. Drawing from the Holy Quran, Özdemir highlights the universal principles of justice and balance, emphasizing the human responsibility to protect and conserve the environment. The book delves into the ethical and sustainable practices outlined in Islamic teachings, guiding Muslims on how to respect and preserve the environment. Notably, it also includes the integral text of The Islamic Declaration on Global Climate Change, drafted in 2015. Since its publication, “Care for Creation: An Islamic Perspective” has gained international recognition, being requested by several prestigious libraries and available in both paper and digital formats. This important work serves as a source of inspiration for Muslims engaged in environmental activities, contributing to the “brown to green” revolution.
