WellAge Senior Living is strategically planning for growth in the coming year after experiencing increased occupancy rates and improved staffing results. The senior living operator currently manages five communities offering a range of services, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and consulting services for the state of Colorado. Additionally, adult day care services are now available at its Jackson Creek location in Monument.
With a 94% average occupancy rate across its communities, WellAge has made significant strides in reducing the use of agency staff by implementing new initiatives based on feedback from staff and residents. These include flexible scheduling practices, educational support, gas stipends, and employee appreciation programs like “Creek Cash” and check-ins for new hires.
Elizabeth Girling, vice president of operations, attributes the company’s success to its focus on creating a positive work environment and fostering strong relationships between corporate teams and employees. As a smaller organization with 247 employees, WellAge has been able to address operational challenges effectively and achieve positive financial outcomes.
Looking ahead, WellAge plans to continue growing occupancy, implementing a mentorship program for its clinical team, and maintaining a strong financial performance. The operator remains committed to preserving its unique culture while pursuing future growth opportunities.
