Dr Alec Price-Forbes, the national chief clinical information officer (CCIO) for NHSE, and Helen Balsdon, the national chief nursing information officer (CNIO), have been announced as keynote speakers for Digital Health Rewired 2025.
Both recently appointed leaders will share their vision for the next phase of NHS digitization at the event taking place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18-19 March 2025.
Dr Price-Forbes, who assumed his role in October 2024, is tasked with mobilizing the senior clinical community across various NHS programs to drive large-scale digital transformation. He brings a wealth of experience as a consultant rheumatologist and former CCIO for Coventry and Warwickshire’s sustainability and transformation partnership.
Helen Balsdon, the new national CNIO, previously held the interim post in 2023 and has been an integral part of the Digital Health Networks since 2017. As a former Cambridge University Hospitals CNIO, she will discuss leveraging digital tools and data to enhance patient care for the NHS’ 500,000 nursing workforce.
Joining a lineup of esteemed speakers at Rewired 2025 are industry experts like Phil Wood, CEO of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Dr Joe Zhang from the London AI Centre, Ming Tang from NHSE, and Mike Bracken from Public Digital. The event will also see the launch of 10 principles by the Equity Charter founders aimed at combatting racism in the sector.
