The couple, desperate to conceive after years of failed attempts, sought help. Despite their youth and good health, the issue seemed to stem from the husband’s low semen count. Through a process of deduction and analysis, it was discovered that he suffered from ejaculatory duct obstruction.
Utilizing Occam’s razor, a simple yet effective approach, the root cause was identified and a solution proposed. The obstruction was confirmed through ultrasound, leading to successful treatment via a minimally invasive procedure known as transurethral resection of the ejaculatory ducts (TURED). Following the procedure, the couple experienced a significant increase in semen volume and sperm motility, ultimately resulting in a successful pregnancy.
This case exemplifies the importance of thorough investigation and targeted treatment in addressing male infertility. By identifying and addressing the underlying issue, the couple was able to achieve their goal of conception, highlighting the power of accurate diagnosis and timely intervention.
