The NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) has announced a contract notice for the Digital Workplace Solutions 2 framework, with a value of £2.5 billion.
This framework aims to connect NHS organizations and public sector buyers with suppliers offering core computing hardware infrastructure, tailored and generic software tools.
The contract, scheduled to run from 11 May 2025 to 10 May 2029, is open to a maximum of 30 suppliers. It will include services such as commercial off-the-shelf software licensing, bespoke software development, infrastructure equipment supply, support, and maintenance.
Suppliers are required to demonstrate accreditations with vendors to ensure maximum value for money and must show commitment to sustainability and social value.
Bids for the framework are open until 7 November 2024, with up to 30 high-scoring suppliers being awarded deals. The previous Digital Workplace Solutions framework is set to expire on 9 August 2025.
In addition, a joint tender with the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative has been launched for ‘Tech Devices – Link 4’, worth up to £1.5 billion.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has pledged a 10-year plan to transition to a digital NHS, in response to Lord Ara Darzi’s investigation into the NHS.
