The Careology app has been enhanced to provide personalized wellbeing content for young people with cancer at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the Ella Dawson Foundation.
Launched in 2023 and funded by the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, the app now allows clinicians to prescribe tailored content from the Ella Dawson Foundation, focusing on mental health, exercise, hair loss, and connecting with peers.
This initiative aims to address the unique needs of young cancer patients aged 18-30, offering features such as symptom monitoring, medication tracking, journaling, and self-management tools.
By collaborating with Careology, the Ella Dawson Foundation seeks to reach more individuals navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment, providing vital support for overall wellbeing.
With a significant increase in cancer diagnoses among young adults in the UK, the app also includes resources from Macmillan, Cancer Research UK, and the NHS to ensure comprehensive care.
Careology’s chief executive, Paul Landau, emphasizes the importance of connecting young cancer patients with valuable information and support through the app, aiming to improve their overall experience and well-being.
Through partnerships with leading healthcare institutions, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Careology is transforming cancer care delivery to better serve the needs of patients.
