Jessie Myer, Regional Vice President of Sales at Integral Senior Living, has been honored as a 2024 Future Leader by Senior Housing News.

To be selected as a Future Leader, candidates are nominated by their peers. They must be under 40 years old, demonstrate a strong work ethic, show a commitment to seniors’ well-being, and have a vision for the industry.

SHN interviewed Myer about her journey into the industry and the importance of evolving memory care programming and staff training for quality elder care.

What drew you to this industry?

My passion for senior living started at a young age. I fondly remember my first role in the field as a craft assistant and bingo card distributor with my girl scout troop at age 8.

What’s your biggest lesson learned since starting to work in this industry?

Never underestimate the power of asking questions and truly listening to make a positive impact.

If you could change one thing with an eye toward the future of senior living, what would it be?

I envision enhancing memory care programming and improving staff training to provide personalized and compassionate care for those with cognitive challenges.

What do you foresee as being different about the senior living industry looking ahead to 2025?

I anticipate that customers will become more informed each year, leading senior living leaders to meet higher standards and focus on continuous community improvement.

In a word, how would you describe the future of the senior living industry?

Evolving.
