Jayne Sallerson holds the role of President/COO at Charter Senior Living, a leading national organization dedicated to providing quality lifestyles for seniors and their families. Get to know Sallerson better through her Hot Seat interview, where she shares insights on her favorite vacation spot, her early days in senior living, career inspiration, and more.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? Definitely a morning person! I prefer to hit the sack by 8:00pm.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why? Teleportation – no more hassle with airports, rental cars, and hotels!

It’s 7 AM on a Saturday. Where are you right now? Working out in my home gym on the Peloton treadmill – not the most thrilling activity!

What was the make of your first car? A 1976 Ford Granada, where my sales skills began!

What’s your favorite destination worldwide? Italy – my retirement dream involves pasta and wine in Italy.

What was your first job in senior living and the key lesson from it? My first role was Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, highlighting the importance of collaboration with other regional directors.

What is your most crucial people management principle? “Trust and Respect” – fostering an environment of honesty and mutual respect.

Who is your greatest career inspiration? Granger Cobb – a mentor who taught me the value of humility and surrounding myself with bright minds.

If you were recruiting someone new to the industry, how would you describe senior living in three words? Honor, Purpose, Rewarding.
