Guidance on measuring family spillover effects in Health Technology Assessments (HTA) and Cost-Effectiveness Analyses (CEA) is provided in a paper by Campbell et al. (2024). The authors developed 15 recommendations through literature review, expert interviews, and a workshop to ensure consistent and transparent evaluation. The expert panel included patient advocates, health economists, outcomes researchers, a health policy expert, and a payer.

The recommendations are tailored for three stakeholder groups: HTA agencies, model developers, and data analysts specializing in family spillovers. These recommendations aim to standardize and enhance the assessment of family spillover effects in healthcare evaluations.
