Exploring the Locations of Head and Neck Cancer
Head and neck cancer can occur in various areas within the head and neck region. It accounts for about 4% of all cancers in the United States, with men being more prone to developing it. However, it can also affect women and non-smokers. Some common locations for head and neck cancer include the voice box (larynx), throat (pharynx), mouth, nose and sinuses, salivary glands, and neck. Early detection is crucial, as the survival rate for stage 1 or stage 2 head and neck cancer is between 70% and 90%. If you have any concerns or questions about head and neck cancer, consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
