As told to Nicole Audrey Spector
Following the birth of my second child, I found myself dealing with persistent bladder leakage that was impacting my daily life. Peeing whenever I coughed, sneezed, or laughed became a regular occurrence, leading me to rely on pads and alter my activities to avoid embarrassment.
This condition hindered my ability to enjoy social outings and engage in activities that brought me joy, affecting my quality of life and my ability to fully participate in my children’s lives.
After years of searching for a solution and trying various methods like Kegels, I took a holistic approach to tackle the root cause of my bladder leakage. Through rigorous research and self-exploration, I uncovered that overactive pelvic floor muscles were at the core of my issue.
By focusing on retraining and balancing my muscles, managing stress, and incorporating whole-body exercises, I was able to achieve significant improvement and eventually eliminate my bladder leakage altogether.
My journey to recovery inspired me to become a pelvic floor physical therapist, dedicated to helping other women address similar challenges and regain control over their lives.
