Before the emergence of ChatGPT, there was an enigmatic question-answering black ball, the Magic 8 Ball. I decided to seek insight from both on solving the enduring issues of cost, quality, and access in healthcare, known as “the healthcare crisis.”
The Magic 8 Ball, an invention predating the surge in employer-sponsored health insurance, holds its place as a nostalgic classic, unlike the modern ChatGPT. With the healthcare crisis still prevalent, I turned to these unique sources for answers in the midst of a heated election season.

Through conversations with both the Magic 8 Ball and ChatGPT, I sought insights into potential solutions for the healthcare crisis. While the Magic 8 Ball offered concise responses, ChatGPT delved into complex analysis and detailed strategies, reflecting a contrast in their approaches.
As the dialogue unfolded, it became clear that each source, despite their differences, provided valuable perspectives on crucial healthcare policy questions. From government-run healthcare systems to value-based care and financial incentives, the insights offered by these unconventional advisors shed light on the multifaceted nature of the healthcare crisis.
Ultimately, the search for solutions to the healthcare crisis requires a comprehensive and collaborative effort, as highlighted by the diverse responses from the Magic 8 Ball and ChatGPT. In navigating the complexities of healthcare policy, these unconventional sources offer intriguing insights and provoke further exploration of potential solutions.
