TPP Awarded 10-Year Contract Extension for Electronic Patient Record System by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust
Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust has recently announced the extension of their contract with TPP for an electronic patient record system, valued at nearly £6.3 million. This collaboration includes East Sussex Healthcare, Surrey and Borders Partnership, and Sussex Partnership.
Following a procurement process that concluded in October 2023, TPP will continue to supply the EPR for Sussex Community for another 10 years, up until July 2034. This decision comes amidst controversy surrounding TPP’s founder and CEO Frank Hester, involving allegations of racist remarks.
Both Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and East Sussex Healthcare Trust have emphasized their commitment to diversity and inclusion, seeking assurances from TPP regarding their equality policies.
In light of recent events, the digital health industry has united against racism and discrimination, with discussions on developing an ‘equity charter’ for the sector. Dr. Shera Chok of the Shuri Network has called for tangible actions to support anti-racism efforts.
Digital Health News reached out to TPP for comment, but no response was received at the time of publication.
