Health Care Needs a 21st Century Infrastructure
In today’s world, a strong infrastructure is crucial for success. In healthcare, this is no different. We spend a significant portion of our healthcare budget on administrative tasks, yet our system is far from efficient or effective. With layers of intermediaries and outdated processes, the healthcare infrastructure is in dire need of an overhaul.
While we have made progress with electronic transactions and health records, there are still significant gaps. Fax machines, paper forms, and outdated provider directories are all too common. Data breaches and cyberattacks further highlight the vulnerabilities in our system.
To move forward, we must focus on building a robust infrastructure that can handle the complexities of modern healthcare. This includes better information curation, improved data management, streamlined insurance processes, and the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence.
It’s time to reimagine healthcare infrastructure for the 21st century. The future of healthcare depends on it.
