University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) Implements BadgerNet Electronic Patient Record System for Maternity Services
UHDB has recently introduced the BadgerNet electronic patient record (EPR) and Badger Notes online portal in its maternity services. This system allows pregnant individuals to access and manage their maternity records easily through a mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
Previously, patients were provided with a paper maternity booklet, which has now been replaced by Badger Notes, offering a more convenient way to access and control pregnancy notes. Users can view test results, track pregnancy development, add diary entries, and access a library of pregnancy information.
Nick Wilson, chief executive at System C, the owner of BadgerNet, highlighted the benefits of the system, emphasizing secure access to critical pregnancy information for staff and improved patient experience through the user-friendly Badger Notes app.
With BadgerNet’s cloud-based solution, care is connected seamlessly across different sites, providing a unified pregnancy record link for all BadgerNet maternity and neonatal services in the UK.
UHDB spokesperson expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of BadgerNet, stating that the new system, along with Badger Notes, enhances the patient experience by offering instant access to maternity notes and support online.
Those whose estimated due date is after 24 September 2024 can transfer their handheld paper maternity book to the Badger Notes system, while others can benefit from the resources provided after their baby is born.
BadgerNet, now owned by System C, proves to be a valuable addition to UHDB’s maternity services following its acquisition of Clevermed in 2023.
