Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust’s sexual health service has successfully integrated an electronic patient record (EPR) system from Inform Health, a leading provider of sexual health and HIV software.
The EPR was launched in April 2024 after a meticulous three-month process of procurement, configuration, testing, and training. Sue Bunn, the commercial director at Inform Health, highlighted the trust’s improved ability to meet growing demands, enhance efficiency, and prioritize patient care through this new system.
Since its implementation, the EPR has significantly improved daily operations at Kent Community Health, supporting clinical excellence, enhancing patient access, boosting efficiency, and offering insights into performance metrics.
Leah Elliott, clinical services manager at Kent Community Health, expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the IT, sexual health teams, and Inform Health in ensuring seamless service provision. Plans are underway for the launch of a patient-facing personal health record (PHR) by the end of 2024, allowing patients to manage appointments online securely.
Future enhancements include automated result notifications for STIs, secure messaging, and a healthcare partner module. In a similar initiative, Essex Sexual Health Service and Thurrock Sexual Health Service have already implemented Inform Health’s PHR via the social enterprise Provide.
