Wingate Living is excited to announce plans for new development and future acquisition opportunities as the company continues to grow. President Alexandra Schuster shared that the company has achieved pre-pandemic occupancy levels, reaching a 90% census across its nine communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
This milestone follows efforts to strengthen staffing by focusing on leadership development and retention. Schuster expressed her satisfaction with the company’s growth and stability in 2024, highlighting the upcoming expansion at the Needham, Massachusetts campus known as One Wingate Way East.
The project involves repurposing an existing nursing home building into 69 independent living luxury units with various amenities such as pickleball courts, a rooftop lounge, and yoga studios. Construction is set to begin later this year and is expected to be completed within 12 months.
In addition to the expansion in Needham, Wingate is actively exploring new opportunities in the Northeast and Southeast regions, as well as evaluating development sites in Massachusetts for future projects. Schuster emphasized the importance of creating beautiful environments for older adults and enhancing their lives through thoughtful amenities and services.
With a hands-on leadership approach that fosters adaptability and community engagement, Wingate is committed to maintaining its current occupancy levels and providing exceptional care for residents. Schuster believes that by focusing on enhancing residents’ lives, the company can continue to make families happy and succeed in its mission.
