Recent research by ASHA and ProMatura Group reveals that affordability is a key priority for many active adult residents. The report, based on feedback from 873 older adults in rental communities, highlights their satisfaction levels and preferences. Despite being younger than the average senior living age, respondents expressed satisfaction with their quality of life in active adult communities. Affordability, safety, and location were top priorities, with middle-market rates posing a challenge for the industry. While residents enjoy the lifestyle in their communities, many indicated they would consider moving to senior living if their health deteriorated. Socialization, health status, and unit preferences were also important factors for residents when choosing a community. With a focus on amenities and social activities, active adult rentals cater to the lifestyle preferences of younger baby boomers.
