The World Health Organization introduced its new Global Initiative on Digital Health, a network managed by WHO to focus on country-led digital health transformation. This initiative will help in aligning resources and strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange. It aims to address the challenges faced in digital health transformation and emphasizes on data sharing and patient access to digital tools. The GIDH focuses on four foundational pillars including country needs tracker, country resource portal, transformation toolbox, and convening and knowledge exchange. WHO director-general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus welcomed the initiative and noted the organization’s commitment to using technology to improve health.
