This weekend, I snuggled up with the boys to watch Ferdinand. The movie’s message of embracing vulnerability and rejecting toxic masculinity was truly heartwarming. It reminded us that it’s okay not to fight, to appreciate beauty, and to express our emotions openly.
After the movie, my son Toby asked for more films like Ferdinand, ones that evoke bittersweet emotions. It’s a wonderful feeling to be moved by a film. I’m all ears for recommendations.
Anton, left, and Toby with Ferdinand vibes.
I’m curious, what are your favorite children’s shows and movies? We’ve watched Full House, Fuller House, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parent Trap, and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Any suggestions?
A blast from the past: A fan letter from my three-year-old, Anton, sent to Dwayne Johnson, the voice of Maui in Moana. The letter, accompanied by Anton’s spider drawing, is both adorable and hilarious.
