Shaving your pubic hair is a personal choice, but whether you choose to shave or not, it’s important to keep your pubic area clean and fresh. We consulted with medical experts to answer common questions about shaving pubic hair, including whether it’s safe and the benefits of not shaving. While it is safe to shave, there are challenges due to visibility and the area’s anatomy. Experts recommend using products specifically made for intimate shaving to avoid irritation. If you choose not to shave, keeping your pubic hair clean is essential. Daily use of an intimate wash formulated with pH 5 is recommended. Shaving pubic hair can reduce odor, but keeping the area clean is more important. If you opt to remove pubic hair, use a clean, sharp razor and shave in the direction of hair growth to prevent ingrown hairs. Aftercare is important, so moisturize with gentle, fragrance-free products. Ultimately, whether you shave or not, it’s your personal choice.
