A couple weeks ago, I saw an Instagram Story that resonated with me…
My favorite makeup influencer, Desi Perkins, shared moments from a work trip to Manhattan with her husband, Steven. In one photo, there was a pizza pan with a single slice next to a pile of crusts.
A follower asked her: “What about those crusts?!“
Her response? “Steven is a child. I can’t break his habits.“
This exchange made me chuckle because, at 31, I realize I still have some childhood habits myself. Here are a few:
* When on road trips as a passenger, I put my feet on the dashboard.
* In a steamy shower, I always draw three squiggly hearts on the glass door.
* I plug my nose when taking cough medicine (can’t stand the taste!).
* I cover my eyes during scary movie scenes, peeking through my fingers.
One habit that drives my husband, Max, crazy is that I chew on the straw in my cup when we get fast food. Although he loves sharing plates, he refuses to share a drink with me because he can’t stand drinking through a chewed-up straw.
While I sometimes consider acting more mature, I realize these quirks show a fun and youthful side of me that I am glad has never grown up.
On the topic of childish behaviors, here’s something else that made us laugh:
What about you? What are some of your childlike habits? Feel free to share!
