Climate change is having complex impacts, but one noticeable effect is the changing seasons with shorter winters and longer, hotter summers. A study in the Geophysical Research Letters journal suggests that by 2100, winters could last only two months while summer heat could extend for six months. This shift means the planet’s atmosphere will have to transfer more heat and cold between the northern and southern hemispheres in a shorter time, potentially leading to shorter but more intense cold winters.
