I am not usually one for group runs, but my first trail run experience as a trail running beginner was electrifying. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, spurring me to tackle running up a mountain. Although my run quickly turned into a jog and eventually a hike, I was met with unwavering support from the sweepers and fellow runners. The inclusivity and camaraderie of the trail running community made me feel like a true trail runner, even as the last one on the trail. Expectations for novice or slow runners on a group trail run are different, but the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie is unparalleled.
