This Artist Painted Flowers All Over Her First Solo Apartment

At the start of the pandemic, Frances MacLeod, an artist and designer, made the decision to leave Brooklyn and return to her home state of Kansas. “COVID forced my hand, but I knew that I wanted to be closer to my family in the Midwest in the long term,” she explains. **On a sofa disaster:**
During the pandemic, furniture deliveries were delayed, and Frances’ blue sofa was ultimately lost in a maritime disaster. She ended up with a green sofa instead.

Moving to Kansas City meant living alone for the first time, which turned out to be a delightful surprise for Frances.

During the pandemic, Frances found joy in buying flowers and arranging them in thrifted vases.
