Sharing an account of our adventures in Sevilla! I have more exciting posts coming up about food, Q&As, and a Spain packing list you can check out. Greetings, friends! How’s your morning so far? Just a quick update – I’ve added new items to my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post that are currently in stock, and I’ll be updating it throughout the week.

Today, I want to share the highlights of our recent trip to Spain. It took me some time to put this post together because there’s just so much to talk about from our magical vacation. This trip will certainly go down as one of our favorite family vacations, and I can’t wait to share all the details with you. From the colorful streets to the rich culture and stunning sights, Sevilla truly captivated us. In this post, I’ll walk you through our excursions and adventures. Stay tuned for more posts about the fantastic food we discovered, as well as some Q&As!

We traveled to Sevilla to visit close friends who have been living there for the past year. Their oldest daughter is best friends with our daughter P – it’s hard to explain, but these two kids are soulmates and from the same planet – so we make sure they see each other at least once a year. We’ve been friends with this wonderful family since the girls were three years old, and spending time with them was our top priority and a major highlight of the trip. They showed us around this incredible city, giving us an insider’s view of their favorite spots, delicious meals, rooftop hangouts, and even a parents’ night out. The kids had the time of their lives; our hearts are full.

Sevilla is a charming city that reminded me of my favorite parts of Italy and Mexico – bursting with amazing food, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. The streets are filled with wrought iron balconies, and the houses boast a perfect palette of vibrant colors. The parks, surrounded by cafes and bars, are lush with plants and make for perfect spots to relax and soak in the atmosphere. Getting around is easy, with most things within walking distance or a quick bus ride away. The kids even got to take a painting class from a talented local artist while we were there, which was a special treat they wished they could do weekly.

When it comes to packing for Spain, think casual and versatile. I usually pack a mix of sneakers and dressy sandals, daytime clothes, and a nice dress for dinner. This time, I brought workout clothes just in case, but they stayed in the suitcase. Athleisure is a no-go in Spain; everyone dresses in “real clothes,” even if they’re on the casual side.

We visited many incredible sites in Sevilla, including the Cathedral, Las Setas, Casa de La Memoria, and more. Each spot offered something unique and unforgettable. The visit to the Royal Alcázar was a highlight, with its stunning blend of Moorish and Renaissance architecture. Walking through the lush gardens, filled with fragrant orange trees, was a delight. We also took a day trip to Cádiz for some beach time and exploring the old town.

One of the most memorable experiences was watching a traditional flamenco performance at Casa de La Memoria. The intimate setting and passionate showcase of flamenco music and dance left a lasting impression. We also strolled through Plaza de España, admiring the blend of Spanish Renaissance Revival and Moorish architecture.

Sevilla left a lasting impression on us, with its charm, culture, and beauty. The parks, the riverbank, the historic sites – each one added to the magic of our trip. We can’t wait to go back and explore more of this vibrant city. Keep an eye out for upcoming posts on the amazing food we tried and some Q&As about our Sevilla adventures!
