When it comes to packing snacks for a trip with my kids, I often struggle to bring a variety of healthy foods. However, I have discovered a simple yet effective snack that helps keep hangriness at bay during our travels.
My secret weapon? A Ziploc bag filled with cooked pasta. I boil a pound of pasta the night before our trip, let it cool, add a splash of olive oil to prevent sticking, and pack it in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag. This easy snack has saved us during long travel days and unexpected delays.
This pasta bag has been a lifesaver while waiting in long lines, enduring car rides, and dealing with flight delays. It keeps my kids full, requires no utensils, and stays fresh for hours without refrigeration. Plus, the penne or rigatoni shape is easy for little hands to grab.
While it may not be the most exciting snack option, the convenience and cleanliness it offers make it a winner in my book. And once we reach our destination, the pasta bag comes in handy for early morning hunger pangs when nothing else is available.
