
Magnetism at Mecca
Saudi artist Ahmed Mater explores the themes of magnetism, mirage, and Mecca in his latest exhibition at Christie’s in London. The exhibition, titled “Ahmed Mater: Chronicles,” runs from July 17 to August 22 and is curated by Dr. Ridha Moumni.

Exploring themes of mutation, modernization, land, and faith, Mater’s artworks on display are on loan from esteemed institutions in the Middle East and private collections. The exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of Mater’s contribution to contemporary art in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Ahmed Mater, Desert of Pharan
Ahmed Mater’s artistic themes, including nomadism and the landscape of Saudi Arabia, are central to his upcoming AlUla exhibition. The exhibit also showcases Mater’s ongoing exploration of land art and its intersection with Saudi culture and heritage.
