Jessica and Adam Davis from Ohio set out to expand their family by adopting a child in need from Uganda, making it their fifth adoption. They contacted Ohio-based adoption agency EAConsultants, kicking off a nearly $60,000 journey.
Meeting Their New Girl

After a year of paperwork and waiting, they finally met Namata, or Mata, who had a troubled past. Her impressive English skills raised suspicions about her background, leading to the discovery that she was not actually an orphan as believed.
Puzzle Pieces Come Together

Mata’s stories of her past with her biological mother contradicted the orphanage tale, prompting the Davis family to seek out her true family and reunite her.
Thorough research and caution are essential in adoption processes to ensure that children truly in need find loving homes and are not wrongfully adopted or sold.
