Wellness has arrived for the partygoers, even the gracefully aging ones.
Recently, Lil Jon, known for hits like “Get Low” and “Shots,” surprised attendees at a Peloton Studios pre-party for Alex Toussaint’s Club Bangers ride. He stayed to DJ the class, shouting his signature “Yeahs!” and “Okays!” to in-person and virtual riders.
During the class, Peloton teachers Camila Ramón and Ash Pryor emerged with glow sticks and shots of water during the song “Shots,” adding to the fun atmosphere.
Lil Jon also led a meditation class with instructor Chelsea Jackson Roberts, showcasing his dedication to wellness. He is a regular meditator, runs a wellness brand called Soul Chakra, and even released a meditation album.
“I don’t just walk around screaming ‘Yeah! What? Okay!’ all day, every day,” Lil Jon told NPR in March, emphasizing the importance of rest, hydration, and overall health.
Lil Jon’s Peloton class has been well-received by the community, offering a high-energy workout to his music. It’s a unique experience to have the ultimate hype man cheering you on during the ride.
“I’d recommend the class to anyone who used to ‘get low,’ but now their knees crack,” shared Emily.
Other 2000s party legends like Diplo and Shaun White are also focusing on fitness and wellness. Diplo has created a 5K series and Shaun White hosted a “Relaxathon” competition to promote inner peace.
Investing in fitness and wellness, Jay-Z supports various companies in the industry while Pitbull partners with a spinning platform for a fitness class.
It’s inspiring to see these icons from the party scene embracing a wellness journey, trading late nights for early morning market strolls.
“I’ve gone from dancing on tables to spin classes,” Emily reflects. “But so has Lil Jon.”
