There is a lot of debate online about the ideal oven temperature for baking chicken breasts. Is it 400ºF? 350ºF? 425ºF? After over 30 years of experience, I can confidently say that the perfect temperature for juicy, tender chicken breasts every time is 375ºF. Cooking at this temperature ensures that your chicken stays moist and delicious without drying out. Using a lower temperature may result in tougher chicken, while a higher temperature can lead to a drier, more well-done exterior.

Updated on August 1, 2024, with more detailed information on baking chicken breasts, this post also includes new photos. Baked chicken has always been a favorite family meal for me, from Italian chicken to simple baked chicken and rice. Marinating chicken before baking is my preferred method as it infuses flavor and tenderizes the meat.

In this post, we share everything you need to know about baking chicken breast in the oven, along with six different flavoring options. The high protein content, juiciness, quick preparation, versatility, and flavorful possibilities make chicken breasts a popular choice for meals. It is recommended to use high-quality, organic, free-range chicken breast and ensure they are similar in size for even cooking.

For the best results, bake chicken breasts uncovered at 375ºF until the internal temperature reaches 165ºF, which typically takes around 20-25 minutes. To avoid dry chicken, it is important to cook at the right temperature and time. Using a meat thermometer is the most accurate way to ensure your chicken breast is fully cooked.

For storing, let the chicken breast cool completely before placing it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. If freezing, marinate the chicken breast before freezing or freeze it after baking for up to 3 months. When marinating, use a glass container or bag to ensure the chicken is covered and flavorful.

In summary, achieving delicious, juicy baked chicken breasts is possible by following these simple steps and tips. Whether you prefer dry rubs or marinades, there are endless possibilities to flavor your chicken breasts and enjoy a healthy and satisfying meal.
