There are plenty of tips available on enhancing metabolic flexibility and ways to achieve it. Metabolic flexibility is the body’s ability to switch between fuel sources, whether it’s from fat or carbohydrates. It’s important as it allows the body to efficiently switch between glucose and fatty acid catabolism, indicating good mitochondrial function. To improve metabolic flexibility, balance blood sugar levels by prioritizing protein before carbohydrates, have well-rounded meals, front-load carbohydrates earlier in the day, and consider intermittent fasting.
