Photos taken by the talented Julie Jordan document the journey of Claire Vu and Luis Ramirez from their first date to their engagement. Claire initially caught Luis’ attention on her dating profile by asking for music recommendations she could dance to. Luis responded by sending her a playlist, which led to their first date and eventually their engagement two years later.
In an interview with the couple, Claire shared how she was drawn to Luis as a fellow introvert, seeking compatibility in a partner. Luis, typically nervous, meticulously planned the proposal at Ina Coolbrith Park, known for its stunning bay views. As they walked to the park, Luis focused on keeping his posture in check, inspired by a TikTok he had seen about proposals.
When they reached the park, Claire noticed a photographer and realized what was about to happen. Overwhelmed with emotion, she found herself in a daze as Luis poured his heart out before getting down on one knee. After the proposal, the couple met the photographer, Julie, and went to Chinatown for more photos before celebrating their engagement at Cotogna.
Reflecting on their journey, Claire and Luis emphasized how fortunate they felt to have found each other, especially as introverts who may not typically meet at social events. Their engagement story is a testament to the unexpected joys and surprises that come with taking a chance on love.
