During my training to become a physician, I was made aware of the rules of the medical system – rules that were rooted in outdated traditions of sacrifice and patriarchy. As your doctor, I was expected to put your health above all else, even if it meant neglecting my own well-being. I was prepared to work tirelessly, sacrificing sleep, personal time, and even my own health in order to provide you with the best possible care. I was taught to prioritize medicine over everything else in my life, to stay up to date on the latest scientific advancements, and to always put your needs first.
As a patient, you were expected to trust in my expertise, follow my recommendations without question, and prioritize your health above all else. You were asked to comply with doctor’s orders, fill out paperwork, and make any necessary arrangements to prioritize your health. Unfortunately, the system often left patients feeling overlooked, misunderstood, and even mistreated.
It’s clear that the current medical system is in need of healing. That’s why I am offering a six-week workshop on Healing Medical Trauma, a program designed to address the deep wounds caused by the medical system. Together, we can explore these traumas with compassion, sensitivity, and an open heart, in hopes of moving towards a system that truly prioritizes the well-being of both patients and providers.
If you have been hurt by the medical system, whether as a patient, caregiver, or provider, I invite you to join me on this journey of healing. Together, we can work towards a future where medicine is a source of healing, rather than harm. Learn more and register now.
