Two women began a journey to age well, stay healthy, happy, and disease-free. They delved into medical studies, made lifestyle adjustments, and shared their findings on their blog and in their book, the Age Well Project.

Susan Saunders, at 36, became her mother’s caregiver when her mother developed severe dementia. Despite having a full-time job as a TV producer and young children, she was determined to take care of her own health to avoid burdening her daughters in the future.

Annabel Streets had a similar experience with her family history of illness. Diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease at 25, she knew she had to make changes to her lifestyle. Together, Saunders and Streets created the Age Well Project, offering over 100 health tips for aging individuals, even those with busy lives.

In their fifties, they both state that their health has never been better and are determined to continue thriving in their sixties, seventies, and beyond!

25 Ways to Age Well

  1. Search Your Family Tree: Start by creating an ancestral health tree to understand your own health better.
  2. Drink Coffee: Coffee can have numerous health benefits, such as reducing the risk of certain diseases.
  3. Brisk Walking: Walking at a brisk pace can improve memory, health, and lifespan.
  4. Exercise in Nature: Spending time in nature can reduce stress, anxiety, and boost immunity.
  5. Daily Fasting: Intermittent fasting has numerous health benefits and can improve longevity.
  6. Build Muscles: Resistance training is crucial for healthy aging, especially after age 40.
  7. Read Books: Reading can improve longevity and cognitive function.
  8. Retire Later: Staying active in the workforce can benefit your health in the long run.
  9. Take Naps: A short nap can improve focus, memory, and overall performance.
  10. Keep Learning: Challenging your brain with new skills can improve cognitive function.
  11. Clean the Medicine Cabinet: Get rid of medications that may have negative cognitive effects.
  12. Take Vitamin D and Zinc: Supplements can be beneficial for aging individuals.
  13. Avoid Pollution: Reduce exposure to pollution to protect your health.
