We live in a world where endless information is just a click away. However, when it comes to women’s sexual and reproductive health, crucial information is often censored or deemed inappropriate. This is particularly true for content related to conception, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, making it challenging for women to navigate these stages.
That’s where Frida Uncensored comes in, aiming to provide transparent and essential knowledge to women as they embark on new chapters in their lives.
Say hello to uncensored motherhood
Gone are the days of illustrated and censored sexual health content. Frida Uncensored, a new initiative by the parent-focused brand Frida, is on a mission to offer real, unfiltered information to empower women with confidence and knowledge about their bodies.
“Women lack access to accurate educational content about their bodies, especially during physically transformative life stages,” says Frida founder and CEO Chelsea Hirschhorn. “Until such content becomes widely accessible, we are committed to creating and sharing our own.”
Frida Uncensored provides an age-gated platform allowing for uncensored how-to demos of sexual health and wellness products. From at-home insemination kits to FDA-cleared Conception Aid Cups, detailed tutorials are available. The site also covers topics like postpartum vaginal cleansing and cracked nipple treatment.
This platform offers an up-close and personal approach to learning about conception, labor preparation, and postpartum care, with regular updates as Frida introduces new products and responds to consumer inquiries.
“Our ultimate goal is that Frida and other brands like ours can accurately and honestly educate women on their own bodies.” —Chelsea Hirschhorn, CEO and founder of Frida
Unfiltered support for women’s health education
Frida is partnering with the nonprofit Center for Intimacy Justice (CIJ) to support this uncensored initiative. CIJ is advocating for more transparent women’s health education online and beyond, aiming to address existing gaps and empower women with essential information.
“Frida’s Uncensored campaign confronts alarming gaps in access to accurate health information online that leave women and people of underrepresented genders uninformed and underprepared in profound aspects of their lives,” says Jackie Rotman, CIJ founder. “We applaud Frida’s efforts to lift taboos and drive open conversations to empower women.”
While the unfiltered and uncompromised videos may seem graphic, they represent the reality faced by many women. Frida aims to ensure these resources are readily available to anyone seeking guidance.
“Our ultimate goal is that Frida and other brands like ours can accurately and honestly educate women on their own bodies,” Hirschhorn concludes.
