
Columbia Climate School has been selected once again as the university partner for Climate Week NYC 2024. Running from Sept. 22-29, Climate Week NYC brings together global leaders to accelerate climate action and is the largest annual event of its kind.
Dean Jeffrey Shaman expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the theme of “It’s Time” for urgent climate action. The conference will focus on critical topics like climate justice, food insecurity, and water resilience.
This year marks the 16th annual Climate Week NYC, organized by Climate Group and partners. The conference will feature over 600 events, showcasing climate solutions and urging the world to act swiftly. Notable past speakers include Prince Charles, Tim Cook, and Jacinda Ardern.
Columbia experts will lead events on campus, highlighting topics like food sustainability and sustainable fashion. Angela Barranco from Climate Group praised Columbia’s commitment to climate education and leadership.
