We’re dubbing it: Summer 2024 is officially the Summer of Champions. At Well+Good, we’re honoring the amazing athletes, coaches, and stories from the Paris Olympics and the U.S. Open tennis championships. Join us as we highlight everything from the fitness routines of top athletes to the cultural impact of this summer’s events.
Twenty-year-old Bryce Wettstein has been skateboarding practically her whole life. With a skateboard in hand since age 5, she’s set to compete as the top-ranked American in women’s park skateboarding at the 2024 Paris Olympics—her second Olympic games. Raised in California, Wettstein attributes her success to her family, particularly her dad who taught her to skate and encouraged her to compete from a young age.
Off the skateboard, Wettstein relies on a few key items to keep her mind and body in top shape. From her trusty ukulele sponsored by Twisted Wood Guitars, to journaling in her beautiful Denik journal, to reading books like Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, she finds different ways to unwind and stay mentally sharp. Surfing, ballet, and enjoying a Lemonade Cream Cooler from Sonic Drive-In also play a part in keeping her cool and ready to compete.
Catch Bryce Wettstein at the Women’s Park Skateboarding event on August 6. You can watch her on NBCUniversal, Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, USA Network, CNBC, and E! Stay tuned for more updates as she takes on the competition with grace and skill.
