We just returned from a wonderful two-week trip to Cornwall, England, where we were surrounded by chatty relatives and mischievous seagulls attempting to steal our chips. Take a look at some of the photos from our trip below!
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting my late grandmother’s house, where my aunt Lulu still resides. She always greets us with open arms and in the photo above, she can be seen in front of the town pub where we spent many evenings enjoying delicious Sunday roasts and competitive games of darts for £1 a game.
We were joined by our friend Alison and her family for the trip, adding to the joy of our vacation. Every day, weather permitting, we took a boat ride down the river with aunts, uncles, cousins, and babies, including my beautiful new godson. Despite not being religious, I was deeply touched when asked to be his godmother.
Anton also discovered a love for fishing on this trip, using his dart winnings to purchase a Lifeboat beanie for cooler days. And let’s not forget the amazing food we enjoyed, from fish and chips to fresh strawberry desserts made by Lulu.
Exploring the quaint fishing village across the harbor, we found a shop selling hand-pressed seaweed prints that were simply stunning. Music filled the air as my brother played guitar, adding a soundtrack to our family-filled days.
As our trip came to an end, we were left feeling happy yet exhausted, longing to stay in England a bit longer. Until next year, dear England, we will miss you dearly!
And while the photos may not capture it all, our trip was filled with long travel days, jet lag, sibling squabbles, and rainy days – all part of the adventure of a family vacation.
