Rub’ al Khali, Empty Quarter, Saudi Arabia (Wikipedia). Turns out the “Empty” is full of oil
Saudi Arabia’s energy minister announced that Aramco has discovered seven new oil and gas deposits in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province and Empty Quarter.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman revealed that Saudi Aramco found two unconventional oil fields, a light Arabian oil reservoir, two natural gas fields, and two natural gas reservoirs.
In the Eastern Province, they discovered the “Ladam” unconventional oil field producing very light Arabian oil and the “Al-Farouk” oil field producing ultra-light oil.
In the Empty Quarter, fields like “Al-Jahaq” and “Al-Katuf” are yielding significant amounts of gas and condensate.
With these discoveries, questions arise about the impact on gas prices and Saudi Arabia’s sustainability vision for 2030.
