Cancer is a leading cause of death in America, second only to heart disease. Despite advancements in technology and research, it’s crucial to be vigilant for signs of cancer in your body. Common symptoms to watch for include unexplained lumps, abnormal moles, blood in stool, and persistent cough.

Less common symptoms, like itchy “velvety” palms, can also signify cancer. A Brazilian woman’s diagnosis of tripe palms led to the discovery of lung and gastric cancer. Rashes, though rare, should not be ignored as they could be a symptom of cancer like mycosis fungoides, a type of lymphoma.

If you notice a rash, consider common causes like contact dermatitis or bug bites before jumping to cancer. However, if the rash persists, changes, or is accompanied by certain symptoms, it’s advisable to consult a doctor.

Early detection is key in managing any disease, including cancer. Monitoring your body for changes and seeking medical help when needed can improve prognosis. Trust your instincts and prioritize your health by seeking professional guidance when necessary.
