Saudi Arabia has initiated a project to ensure clean drinking water access for 1.7 million people in Yemen. This effort is part of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, which includes various projects aimed at improving sectors like education, health, water, transportation, and agriculture in Yemen. The focus of this particular project is on enhancing water security in the Hadhramaut governorate through the use of renewable energy sources like solar power. By harnessing clean energy, the project aims to increase water resources and reduce dependency on fuel for operating wells, ultimately reducing production costs and improving sustainability. Additionally, the project will involve training workers in the implementation and operation of solar energy systems. This initiative not only addresses the pressing water crisis in Yemen but also promotes sustainable development in the region.
