Nazish Qureshi, the founder of Muslim Climate Watch, emphasizes that the fasting month of Ramadan provides a valuable opportunity to reject a culture of excess consumption and wastefulness, which have significantly contributed to Earth’s pollution and climate change.
Qureshi explains, “Abstaining from indulgence enables us to rise above greed and envy, prevalent in a society driven by consumerism.”
